Free online jigsaw puzzles to solve together

Pieceware is a multiplayer jigsaw puzzle you play in the browser with the people you choose. One person makes a lobby, everyone else opens the link, and you all work on the same board at the same time: every cursor is visible, every placed piece shows up for everyone instantly, and the puzzle is finished when the last piece snaps in. There is no account to create, nothing to install, and nothing to pay – it is the same jigsaw you would spread across a kitchen table, minus the missing piece under the sofa.

How it works

1. Pick a picture. Choose one from the built-in catalog of paintings, landscapes, animals, cities and space photos, or upload a photo of your own.
2. Choose the cut. Anything from 24 to 1500 pieces, three piece shapes, and optional rotation for people who like it hard. Enter a nickname and press Create lobby.
3. Share the link. Send it over chat, email or a video call. Whoever opens it lands on your board – on a laptop, a tablet or a phone – and you solve it together.

Good to know

Pieces snap when they are close enough to a neighbour with the same orientation, and groups that fit together merge into one block you can drag as a whole. The board – the outline of the finished picture – sits in the middle; pieces you drop in the right spot lock in place, and a faint ghost of the picture can be switched on from the toolbar when you are stuck. The server keeps the authoritative state, so two people grabbing the same piece at the same moment never end up with two copies of it. Rooms are kept for twelve hours after the last player leaves. Is Pieceware really free?

Yes. Every feature – lobbies, uploads, 1500-piece puzzles, the global puzzle – is free, with no account, no app and no paywall.

How do I play a jigsaw puzzle with friends online?

Pick a picture (or upload one), choose the piece count and shape, and press Create lobby. You get a link; anyone who opens it joins the same puzzle and sees everyone's cursors live.

How many people can play at once?

Up to 50 players per lobby. Two to six is the sweet spot; big groups work best on 1000 or 1500 pieces so nobody runs out of things to do.

Does it work on a phone or tablet?

Yes. Drag pieces with a finger, pinch to zoom and pan with two fingers. Smaller piece counts (24–200) are the most comfortable on a phone.

What happens to a photo I upload?

It is resized to at most 1600 px, used only for your puzzle, and deleted automatically about a day after the last game with it ends. It never appears in the public catalog.

Do I lose my puzzle if I close the tab?

No. The lobby stays on the server while anyone is in it and for twelve hours after the last player leaves, so you can come back with the same link.
